According to the Alberta Junior Hockey League website on Monday, the Canmore Eagles and Olds Grizzlys both lost in Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff action.

The Eagles, located an hour west of Calgary, lost 4-0 to the Drumheller Dragons. Curtis Skip of Grande Prairie, Alberta made 22 saves for the shutout, and Christopher Rauckman of Red Deer, Alberta scored twice. With the win, the Dragons lead the Eagles 2-1 in the best out of seven Western Conference semifinals.

The Grizzlys, located an hour north of Calgary, lost 6-4 to the Brooks Bandits at the Olds Sportsplex. The Bandits got a key second period shorthanded unassisted goal from Austin Plevy of Langley, British Columbia at the 56 second mark of the second period. The goal put the Bandits up 2-1 at the time. Kyler Nachtigall of Calgary then scored the game winning goal with 11:12 left in the third period. Patrick Chore of Kelowna, British Columbia scored twice for Brooks, who leads the Western Conference semifinals 3-0.

In the north, Fort McMurray beat Lloydminster 4-1 to take a 2-1 lead and Spruce Grove beat Sherwood Park 3-2, but still trail that series 2-1.
