Eagles and Grizzlys lose in AJHL playoffs Friday

According to the Alberta Junior Hockey League website, the Olds Grizzlys and Canmore Eagles both lost in Alberta Junior Hockey League playoff action on Friday evening.

The Grizzlys lost 7-2 to the Brooks Bandits in game one of the south division semifinal, while the Eagles lost 6-2 to the Drumheller Dragons in game one of the other south division semifinal.

In Canmore, Drumheller's Trent Ouellette led the Dragons in scoring with three assists, while Mitchell Cook, Colton Vannucci and Jesse Zaharichuk each had a multi-point game with a goal and an assist each.

Meanwhile in Brooks, Brandon Bruce, Austin Plevy and Anthony Paskaruk all had three points. Bruce had two goals and one assist, Plevy had one goal and two assists and Paskaruk had three assists.

Olds is located one hour north of Calgary, while Canmore is located one hour west of Calgary.

In the north division semifinals, the Sherwood Park Crusaders defeated the Spruce Grove Saints 4-2 to take a 1-0 series lead, while the Fort McMurray Oil Barons defeated the Lloydminster Bobcats 4-3 in game one of their series.
