Eagle of the Watch is a new common white creature card from Wizards of the Coast's expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set "Journey Into Nyx."

Featured in the "Pantheon's Power" Intro Pack, Eagle of the Watch can easily rule the skies for the early part of a game. Eagle of the Watch arguably more powerful in limited where its evasion of flying and vigilance allow it to pull double duty as both a great threat and vital blocker (although it won't survive combat without help from another card). With a low toughness of one, Eagle of the Watch is quite susceptible to burn or damage caused by abilities of permanents like an opponent's Doomwake Giant.

Abusing Eagle of the Watch will rely upon beefing it up with bestow creatures, getting an Archetype of Courage onto the battlefield, or attaching a fancy piece of equipment such as Godsend onto it.

While Eagle of the Watch may not be that impressive in a constructed it can help make up the backbone of a limited deck should you be running white.
