With former EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson taking over as the chief executive for Electronic Arts, the video game publishing juggernaut is shuffling the deck a bit in terms of their executives, according to a report today from VG 24/7.
A leaked memo obtained by VentureBeat confirmed the corporate position musical chairs, with EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund maintaining his role while likely taking over for Wilson as the EA Sports head.
According to the report, the memo doesn’t specifically spell out which executive will take over what division, but did define the executives’ roles.
President of EA Games Label Frank Gibeau will likely run EA’s mobile division, but there’s no word if he’ll retain his former position.
The company’s current operations chief Peter Moore will continue to head the Global Publishing and Marketing organizations and EA’s Worldwide Customer Experience and Global Media Solutions teams, but again there’s no word if he’ll stay EA’s COO.
As of right now, there seems to be no executive departing.
Wilson, who took over as the EA CEO last week, said he feels uniquely qualified to run the publisher and developer because he grew up with the company. Read the full Examiner report here.
