Last night, EA sent out an email to members (I personally received it at 10:30 PM) informing them of what Joystiq had reported earlier in the day: They're hosting a Player Appreciation Sale, which lets you save up to a whopping 70% off select titles.
This sale will be available across all platforms. For example, "Dead Space 3" (which, coincidentally was one of the free games purchasers of "Sim City" could choose) is in the sale, having the $60 price cut down to $30 on PC (both digital and physical), 360, and PS3.
There are quite a few other deals, including several of their more popular titles. "Crysis 3" also drops to $30 on all platforms, while "Mass Effect 3" (though only the PC version) drops from $20 to $10. "Battlefield 3: Premium Edition" also drops to $30 from the original price of $60.
Of course, not all deals are created equal. Ignoring the lack of discount for "Mass Effect 3" on anything other than PC, "Dead Space 2" sets a perfect example. All versions before the sale were $20, however, during the sale, the PC version will be a mere $7, while 360 and PS3 versions are more than twice that at $15.
The sale will be going on for a single week, ending on March 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM PDT. There are quite a few other games than what I've listed in the sale (in fact, over 200 titles are in this sale), so if you've been considering picking up any games from Origin, now may be the perfect time. Swing on by their website and see if anything catches your eye. Happy gaming!
