Von Miller, Aldon Smith, Justin Houston, Lavonte David and Robert Mathis were named as the top-five rated Outside Linebackers in the upcoming “Madden NFL 15" video game, Electronic Arts revealed on their official site today.
Miller and Smith both nabbed the top ranking with a 96 overall rating. In 2013, Miller was limited to just nine games, but had five Sacks and three forced fumbles. In three seasons in the NFL, Miller has 35 Sacks in 40 games.
Smith, who registered an impressive 8.5 sacks in just 11 games last season, joins fellow 49ers Middle Linebackers Navorro Bowman and Patrick Willis, who were also ranked at the top of the middle linebacker position with a 96 rating.
Last season, Bowman led the 49ers with 145 tackles and added five sacks, two interceptions and a TD. Willis’ stats were certainly comparable, with 104 tackles and three sacks in spite of missing two games.
The Chiefs’ Houston, Colts’ Mathis and Bucs’ David share the final three spots with a 93 rating.
As far as Houston goes, EA did more than justify his spot in the top five at the position.
“Houston might not be a household name outside of the Kansas City area, but he should be with 93 TAK, 97 Power Moves (ranked first for LOLB), and 93 BLK SHD (ranked first for LOLB).”
“Madden 15” is set for an August 26 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One home gaming consoles.
