According to a report today from VG 24/7, Need for Speed: Rivals will indeed have a progression cap like Electronic Arts' previous effort Hot Pursuit, but the developer said it will different in the upcoming installment.
According to the EA blog, Need for Speed: Rivals gamers will be able to select from two distinct career paths to progress the game’s narrative: Cops of Racers.
Cops will be able to complete “Assignments” from three different categories: “Patrol,” “Enforcer,” and “Undercover.”
Racers, on the other hands, will play with a mysterious character named Zephyr, competing “Speedlists” in the categories of “Race,” “Pursuit,” and “Drive Speedlists.”
“After completing the narrative you can then go back and complete the other Assignments and Speedlists that you haven’t attempted yet,” according to the blog.
Need for Speed: Rivals hits the shelves for PC, PlayStation 3, PS4 and Xbox 360 on Nov. 19 in North America, dropping three days later for the Xbox One when the next-gen console launches.
