EA Game Cards released at nationwide retail stores during October and November

EA Games is making it easier for Sims players of all ages to get their game fix. During October and November, the gaming giant plans to release its $20 EA Game Card through several retail chains across the US and Canada, allowing gamers ease of access to credit card-free online purchases of base games, expansion packs and in-game items.

Using the EA Game Card for Sims items
The $20 EA Game Card, which is basically a standard gift card, can be purchased in advance and redeemed on the EA Store website or through the Sims 2 and Sims 3 stores under the ‘My Account’ tab.

Once redeemed, the online credit can be used to pay for games, expansion packs and stuff packs, or to purchase SimPoints for use when downloading exclusive items in the virtual Sims 2 and Sims 3 stores. More than one card can be entered at a time to cover the total cost of a purchase.

In addition to purchases on the Sims websites, the game cards can be used in connection with games such as Lord of Ultima, Dragon Age, Battlefield Heroes, Need for Speed World, Pogo, BattleForge, Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online, and Mass Effect 2.

Where to buy EA Game Cards

$20 EA Game Cards will become available for purchase at the following stores over the next few weeks:

  • October 29, 2010 - Toys ‘R’ Us
  • October 31, 2010 - Best Buy
  • November 1, 2010 - GameStop
  • November 15, 2010 - Safeway
  • November 16, 2010 - 7-Eleven

Blockbuster, Target, and Walmart stores started selling the EA Game Cards earlier this month.

The Sims $10 Cash Card is still available through retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart for Sims players who do not wish to spend quite as much money at one time.
