The latest on Dante's Inferno from my brother, Joseph Tresca of Eyeballistic, who is currently live in LA at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Fans can look forward to Dante's Inferno on the PSP, PS3, Xbox 360. It has 60 frames per second and incredible art direction. In fact, the lead art director is none other than Guillermo del Toro, the famous director of Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth. In fact, Joe reports that the artwork has a “very Pan's labyrinth feel,” with “incredible textures and animations.”
Highlights included ripping Koran the Demon Boat’s head off, and fighting the Gluttons, huge giggling dynamic creatures that try and eat you. Joe describes the gameplay as a “God of War-like cinematic experience with giant demons and combos.” It also has incredible sound and a fantastic soundtrack.
“My first thoughts,” said Joe, “was ‘Oh my god, I need to own this game.’”
As a side note, I've had a project in development hell for years for a revamping of the pen-and-paper version of Abyss, a role-playing game that has the same theme: Dante's Inferno on steroids.
More from Joe as it happens!
