Move over we’ve got next gen. This year marks one of the most exciting electronic expo’s in the past 10 years. With both next gen systems launched, a clear and decisive winner can and probably will be declared when it’s all said and done. But what can casual consumers, fan boys and girls alike expect from this year release titles? Will videogame developers hit the mark?
More importantly will we get a chance to see both systems stretch their respective legs and show us what’s really underneath each respective hood?
With so many expectations from this year’s event, there will definitely be a go big or go home atmosphere. Here’s a breakdown on the major players schedules and what you want out of each.
E3 2014 Schedule for Your Viewing Pleasure . . .
We Love Our Fans Pre Events. Microsoft Store Pre-E3 Event for fans will be held on Sunday, June 8 from 1-3 PM, line opens at 11 a.m. There will be 100 raffles where fans will be selected to attend Microsoft’s E3 press conference. DON’T MISS OUT IF YOU’RE THERE!
Main Event Schedule
Microsoft Press Conference: June 9 at 9:30 a.m. PDT
According to Gematsu.com, rumored titles include; Fable Legends, Forza Horizon 2, Halo 5: Guardians, and Sunset Overdrive. Microsoft said its E3 showing will consist of both “new IP and new sequels,” and teased at least one Japanese game.
Also rumored to appear include Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as well as Crackdown 3 and “Project Nagano” from Platinum Games, the latter of which might be GameSpot’s rumored “big” third-party exclusive.
FAN FRENZY RUMORED TITLES: Halo 5, Yes Please! It’s something we all want to see! Also honorable mention, Xbox TV shows. Will we get to see some trailers of original series? Inquiring minds need to know!
EA Press Conference: June 9 at 11:30 a.m. PDT
According to Gematsu.com rumored titles set to appear include Battlefield: Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Madden NFL 15, Mirror’s Edge, NHL 15, The Sims 4, Star Wars: Battlefront, a new project from Criterion Games, and five other projects.
Likely appearances include EA Sports UFC, the still unannounced FIFA 15, and EA’s still to be titled Golf game.
FAN FRENZY RUMORED TITLES: Mass Effect prequel or whatever they’re calling it. . . I miss Shepard, but I really miss the expansive world of Mass Effect more than anything else. I hope EA and Bioware will satisfy the masses and give us what we want, Mass Effect 2015 Spring release date. Here’s to wishful thinking!
Ubisoft Press Conference: June 9 at 2:30 p.m. PDT
According to Gematsu.com, rumored titles set to appear include Assassin’s Creed: Unity, The Crew, The Division, Far Cry 4, and Valiant Hearts: The Great War.
FAN FRENZY RUMORED TITLES: For now, Assassin’s Creed seems to be Ubisoft’s bread and butter, but you can expect to see at least 1 BIG announcement so make sure you tune in!
Sony Press Conference: June 9 at 6:00 p.m. PDT
According to Gematsu.com, rumored titles set to appear include Destiny, Driveclub, The Order: 1886, and a new game from new internal indie studio Pixel Opus.
Likely appearances include The Last of Us Remastered, the next Uncharted, and an indie games segment.
From Software’s Project Beast is rumored to appear. The Last Guardian is possible. Sony has been very quiet as to the contents of their showing this year.
Based on previous partnerships, it’s possible we’ll see Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, Final Fantasy XV, or Kingdom Hearts III.
FAN FRENZY RUMORED TITLES: Will Sony show God of War PS4 at E3 2014? Fans have their fingers crossed for this one. According to VG247.com, “Kratos is Coming!” I for one am excited about Destiny. It looks very impressive, however it’s not an exclusive title for Sony.
Nintendo Digital Event: June 10 at 8:30 a.m. PDT
According to Gematsu.com, rumored titles set to appear include the next The Legend of Zelda, NFP-compatible titles, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and Super Smash Bros.
Likely appearances include Bayonetta 2, Monolith Soft’s new game, and Sonic Boom. The new Fatal Frame, Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei, and Yarn Yoshi are also possible.
Rumored appearances include Pokken Fighters.
FAN FRENZY RUMORED TITLES: With no official press conference this year, Nintendo appears to still be too short to ride the big boy roller-coaster. They will live steam all their new games and announcements at a separate digital event.
