One of the most interesting offerings of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in L.A. - at least in terms of casual games, was a new game that lets you act out your fantasies of Hollywood stardom--quite literally.

Like "acting karaoke", party game Yoostar: Be Scene lets you download classic scenes from your favorite movies and insert yourself into them. Endorsing the product at this year's E3 was Avatar star, Zoe Saldana, who was kind enough to chat with us about it.

Examiner: How did you get involved with Yoostar?
ZS: Well any kind of company or organization that supports film in a way that connects the audience or the fans with what we do I feel as an artist, are things that are worth standing by and supporting. Because it all helps each other. I love what I do, but when I'm not working like I said, I'm home or I'm going to a karaoke place and I wish I was more of a gamer but I love interactive games.
Examiner: That's what I was going to ask you – do you play any of the Dance Dance Revolution or the karoake games?
ZS: I do and it's tons of fun. Because you know, I'm not much of the “gunny” or things like that and to get the opportunity to do something that is sort of linked with what I do and get to have fun at it is awesome.
Examiner: So you were talking about how you might insert yourself into films that you love. Which films would you choose?
ZS: Oh dear...Terminator?
Examiner: Really? As what?
ZS: Well that's the great thing about this program is you're able to – you can be Arnold and you can be Sarah Connor or you can be Kyle...so definitely the Terminator. We were just talking about Gremlins and they're (Yoostar) adding new movies every week so by the time the product is out there and ready for the public, they're gonna have an amazing, extensive library from classical movies to kiddie movies. I would love to be like, in a Disney movie. Be like, the Little Mermaid or something.
Examiner: Mary Poppins?
ZS: Mary Poppins! Forget it, that'd be so awesome. And it's always a good sign when you see sort of, the industry supporting something that endorses in a very positive way, what we do.
Examiner: Why do you think this product has such appeal and who do you think it will appeal to?
ZS: I think people of all ages. It's definitely a family game. It's a friend game. You can do it in someone's house and like, have some beers and just like, do it, you know? So I really think it's meant for all ages.
Examiner: These days everyone wants to be famous right? So in that way, it's like wish fulfillment.
ZS: Well, I wasn't even thinking of it in that way. Because when we get together and we play those other games where you're playing the instruments or you're singing or something, it's all about having a great time and for five minutes if I can think that I'm Mick Jagger, then I think it's awesome! So trust me, even though I'm an actor, if for five minutes I can be Meryl Streep or Glen Close or Whoopi Goldberg or something, I'm there for the ride within a second. And also to spend a good Saturday night having a great time with friends doing something that's also educational, I think it's great.
Examiner: So one more question. Favorite role – pirate, Na' vi or Federation officer?
ZS: Oh geez. I say all of the above because at the time, I enjoyed every minute of it. I can honestly say that I feel very very lucky that I was a piratess and that I was in space and that I was from another planet. I couldn't ask for something better to do.
