E! plans to cover the 2014 Grammys with red carpet and after party TV specials

It’s music’s biggest night of the year and E! plans on having the 2014 Grammys completely covered from the first red carpet arrivals to the infamous after parties. On Jan. 22, the entertainment network revealed on Media Net its TV and online plans to broadcast the music event of the year. To say the least, they’re quite impressive.

Giuliana Rancic and Ryan Seacrest are set to host E!'s "Live from the Red Carpet" before the 2014 Grammy Awards.

Beginning at 4 p.m. EST and PST on Sunday, Jan. 26, E! will air an expanded two-hour “Countdown to the Red Carpet” TV special. Hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, Terrence Jenkins, and George Kotsiopoulos kick off the network's coverage of the 2014 Grammy Awards with fashion commentary from Hollywood’s most unpredictable red carpet.

At 6 p.m. EST and PST, Ryan Seacrest, Giuliana Rancic, Ross Matthews and Kelly Osbourne take over for “Live from the Red Carpet” to dissect every gown, tuxedo and outrageous fashion hit and faux pas. They’ll also discuss the latest Grammy predictions and interview the arriving stars of music and Hollywood. In addition, Eonline will present the most complete access to the latest Grammy news, videos and even live Tweets from attendees. Leveraging its exclusive access, E! will give online readers a complete “like there” experience – from red carpet fashions to what the stars really say after they step off the stage.

After the awards show, E! will continue its live 2014 Grammys coverage with a TV special titled “After Party.” Hosted by Pauly D from “Jersey Shore," Christina Milian and Terrence Jenkins, the special will give viewers tons of insider scoop, plus highlights from the main show. Also, Ross Mathews and Alicia Quarles will report live from the Ciroq sponsored “Club 360” bar with a fashion recap and overview from the big event.

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards air on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 8-11 p.m. on CBS. LL Cool J serves as host of the live show from the Staples Center in L.A. Scheduled performers include Lorde, Katy Perry, Metallica, Pharrell Williams, Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Blake Shelton, Pink, Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons, Robin Thicke, Chicago, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson.

Jay Z leads the pack of 2014 Grammy nominations with 9; while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell Williams land in a four-way tie for second place with seven each. This could be the year of hip-hop, with four of the top five nominees coming from the genre. While Justin Timberlake is considered a pop star, he has heavy hip-hop influences. As predicted by "Forbes," the 2014 Grammys “will be a huge night for hip-hop.”
