E! network gives 'Chelsea Lately' the axe three months early

Just a few months ago it was announced that “Chelsea Lately” would be ending at the end of this year. Chelsea Handler has been hosting the show on the E! network since 2007, and she felt like 2014 would be a good time to end it. Handler has been a controversial host, saying what others have wanted to say but never had the guts to say. According to a May 28 report from New York Daily News, “Chelsea Lately” will be ending in August. It appears that the network is axing the show three months before Chelsea Handler's contract expires.

Rumors have been circulating about there being beef between Chelsea Handler and the E! executives. Fans have been watching Handler on the show for seven years, but over the last few years things have gotten a little more extreme. Some of the comments made by Handler have offended celebrities. There have been quite a few occasions where “Chelsea Lately” has had to bleep comments made by Handler.

Fans have taken to Twitter to comment about the early ending of “Chelsea Lately.” There are a mix of fans and haters commenting in the “Chelsea Handler” Twitter feed, but many will miss the show that has become a staple in their lives. Several comedians have sit alongside Handler at the table and many of them will be missed as well. Handler's little friend, Chuy has gained huge popularity from being on the show, and there is no information about what he will do when it ends.

The final air date for “Chelsea Lately” is set for August 26. The entire month of August is supposed to be filled with surprise guests. While fans are upset about the show being ended early, they know Chelsea Handler will pop up somewhere else. Until then fans can catch all-new episodes of “Chelsea Lately” all summer long.
