E.L. James sparks fan casting, has the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie on her mind (Photos)

Ever since screenwriter Kelly Marcel’s “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie interview in early January hit the internet, fellow “50 Shades” fans have been clamoring to find out the latest news surrounding the hot-and-heavy film adaptation. Fan casting in particular has seen a sharp spike of interest this week, as Latinos Post reported this Monday, Jan. 14, that EL James recently had her Twitter fans excited over a simple tweet of the gifted author watching “Troy,” leading many readers to wonder if she was “scouting” Christian Grey contender Garrett Hedlund for the lead role. Metro UK added this Wednesday that actress Felicity Jones also opened up this week on the Anastasia Steele casting role, and that the film itself will still be majorly reliant on its eventual director and script for the transition to the silver screen.

Inner goddess author EL James hinted that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie may have been on her mind this weekend, as she took to Twitter to let her followers know she was watching “Troy” and couldn’t think of anything better than men in leather.

“Lots of leather and manly thighs … What more could a girl ask for?”

This reportedly led many fans to consider that James may have been on the lookout for a potential Christian Grey, which then spurred fans to wonder if she were checking out the acting skill of Garrett Hedlund in particular. Although the talented “Tron” actor isn’t too often named on many casting polls, he was featured in a fan-made “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie trailer with Amanda Seyfried as Ana that has received hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube.

Of course, EL James could have simply had a penchant for "Troy" this weekend as well!

Felicity Jones, another fan favorite for a lead in “50 Shades,” also opened up on her take of the film adaptation, though the "Cheerful Weather" star seems pretty calm about it for now.

“[The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie] all depends on the film-maker and script, just like any other role. I’ve heard there’s been lots of campaigns by fans pushing other actresses, but I should thank this person who went to all the trouble [to put my name in the running for Ana].”

Fellow "50 Shades" fans, can you see Garrett Hedlund or Felicity Jones as your Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele? It's true, however, that for Garrett in particular, there will be some hot competition with the current top three CEO contenders - Henry Cavill, Matt Bomer, and Ian Somerhalder - so please stay tuned.
