E-Book Extravaganza at Joliet Junior College

The E-Book Extravaganza will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Joliet Junior College Library, located in the new Campus Center.  As I mentioned in “The Joliet Public Library, Part I,” Joliet Junior College is the oldest public community college in the U.S., and the New Library opened on the second floor of the Campus Center on July 5, 2011.

There will be ample parking for the event. Joliet Junior College is located at 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet, Illinois 60435.

Between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., there will be a Baker & Taylor Axis 360 Product Demonstration with Danielle Miller.  Axis 360 is a digital media platform that provides libraries and their patrons with a system for circulating digital content and Blio.

In the following hour, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., will be the “E-book Roundup:  Stories from the Stacks,” featuring a small panel of local librarians from the Joliet Public Library, Plainfield Library District, and Shorewood-Troy Public Library.  These librarians will relay to the audience their experiences with downloadable content and readers.
