DZ Restaurants taking farm-to-table very seriously

DZ Restaurants, the corporate entity that owns and operates four Saratoga County venues, has added a farm to its portfolio.

Owners David and Roslyn Zecchini purchased a 65-acre farm in Galway where they plan to grow vegetables and herbs for their restaurants. What they have named DZ Farm also will be used for outdoor food-centric events.

"At DZ, we have always rejoiced in what the land provides by cherishing the ingredients from the fields and the farm," David Z said in a statement. "Now, we will fill our plates and our hearts with the bounty of our own crops and the ever-present gift of family and friendship.

DZ Farm includes a 2,000-square-foot house, fields, woodlands, koi pond, horse barn, walking and hiking trails and a beaver pond. The Zecchinis plan eventually to offer hands-on educational experiences, retreats, agricultural workshops and culinary adventures at the farm.

DZ Restaurants owns the Saratoga Springs venues Chianti Ristorante, Forno Bistro and Boca Bistro, as well as Pasta Pane Rustic Italian Bistro in Clifton Park.
