Mark your calendars, and plan for take-out this Thursday, September 19th, in anticipation for a free guest lecture at Eagle Hill School in Southport, Connecticut. From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Foss will be speaking about his new book, “The Dyslexia Empowerment Plan: A Blueprint for Renewing Your Child’s Confidence and Love of Learning.” Primary points of discussion will include how parents can recognize their children’s strengths, teach them to support themselves, and establish a community for their children.
A dyslexic himself, Ben’s book, which will be available for sale, depicts his personal experiences growing up with Dyslexia, and explains how dyslexic children perceive their environment. He will also offer professional guidance in how parents and teachers alike can assist children with Dyslexia in reading, understanding how they learn, and using this understanding to their advantage in their future endeavors.
Foss is an entrepreneur, activist, and founder of the non-profit organization known Headstrong Nation, which strives to provide for the dyslexic community. Credited with the invention of the Intel Reader, a device that takes picture images and reads text aloud, he graduated from Wesleyan University and received both his JD and MBA from Stanford Law and Business Schools.
