Dynamo sign former ball boy

Houston Dynamo have signed a former ball boy as Bryan Salazar to a homegrown contract on Thursday.

Salazar is currently in his Senior Year at Fort Bend Bush High School and has played in the Dynamo academy for six years, joining the U-13 program and progressing through the ranks.

Salazar has already won silverware in Dynamo colors having won the 2010 Dallas Cup with the Under 16 academy side.

“When I joined the Junior Academy six years ago, I was told this was my chance to become a professional soccer player and I’m excited this day has arrived,” Salazar said in a Houston Dynamo press releases. “I want to thank everyone at the Dynamo Academy that has helped me achieve my dream of playing for the Dynamo and I look forward to continuing my career under Dominic Kinnear.”

Salazar has impressed with the Under 18 squad for 2013 with nine goals from 13 games coming on the back of scoring five goals in three matches at December's winter showcase.

Salazar will continue High School and will join the squad full-time after his graduation in summer.

His chance to impress could well come early as Salazar is slated to travel to Carolina with the first team as they participate in the Carolina Challenge Cup.
