The Houston Dynamo have not forgotten the 5-0 loss six weeks ago against the Montreal Impact at Stade Saputo. Houston firmly in the playoff hunt is keenly aware of what this match means to the overall picture. A win and the Dynamo move past Montreal into third place and within striking distance of Sporting KC (their opponent on Wednesday October 9, 2013) and Eastern Conference leading New York Red Bulls. A loss and the Dynamo could fall from playoff contention.
Houston has posted one win against Montreal in five all-time meetings against three losses and a draw. The lone win came in Houston so that bodes well for the men orange.
A win will come with steady midfield play and strong ball control. Both are characteristic of winning Houston soccer and were missing back on August 24th.
Midfielder Warren Creavalle who had played a greater role as the season has worn on talked about the importance of playing well against Montreal.
"Preparation is always the same. We have been playing some good soccer and we just can't let them have a chance in the game."
Houston enters the match unbeaten in their last three MLS matches and have seemingly righted the ship. Montreal hits the pitch with a win, two losses and a draw in the month of September.
Game time at BBVA Compass Stadium is set for 7:30p.m. CT.
