Dynamo add Andrew Driver

Houston Dynamo have ended rumors as they announced the signing of Andrew Driver on a season long loan from Scottish Premier League club Hearts.

The Englishman makes Houston his second club having joined Hearts when he was 11 as part of their academy program and has gone on to make 168 appearances, scoring 19 goals in his seven seasons with the senior side.

Dominic Kinnear was excited as he mentioned in a press release, “Andrew is good at taking people on, he crosses a good ball and can take set pieces, he is a hard-working player and I think he will definitely fit in with the team. He has a good attitude on the field and is versatile. He can play on the left or right side of midfield.”

“I am very excited about the opportunity to come and play for the Dynamo,” Driver said in the press release. “I have followed MLS over the years and Houston has stood out as one of the top teams. I know a lot of success has been because of the work of Dominic Kinnear, so I am delighted to have the chance to learn from him and improve as a player under him.”

Driver's versatility will be a significant asset to the Dynamo and he'll be able to provide set-piece back up in the absence of Brad Davis which will be immensely useful for Houston.

That trade was possible after Houston Dynamo sent JeVaughn Watson to FC Dallas on Tuesday in exchange for a 2015 SuperDraft second-round pick.

The move was widely hailed as a good one for Watson as Dynamo president Chris Canetti said in the release, “I believe this move is in the best interest for both parties. He can begin a new opportunity, and it clears up some roster space that will enable us to make additional moves."
