Dylan Redwine update: Reward increased to $30,000

Dylan Redwine remains missing, but there's some good news in his case. The Facebook page maintained by his mother's close friend announced that the reward has increased from $20,000.00 to $30,000.00. This, of course, hopefully increases the odds of someone coming forward with information. The higher the reward amount, the more likely someone will come forward and even rat out a friend or family member that might be connected to this tragic case.

What's unfortunate is that there are no investigative updates in the search for the missing Colorado teen. Officials have not released information in several weeks, but have confirmed that it's not likely that he ran away from home. It's more likely that he met foul play or was kidnapped. This is an absolute shame, but it sheds a negative light on the father more so than what his mother has publicly done. Mark Redwine has been under intense public scrutiny surrounding the disappearance of his son, and the boy's mother hasn't helped by publicly calling him out and accusing him of "doing something" to Dylan.

Hopefully this reward accomplishes something in the search for Dylan Redwine, but it's not common for rewards to actually help -- even in cases where the amount surpasses $200,000.00. Sometimes staying out of trouble and under the radar of law enforcement is more important than doing the right thing -- in the minds of some. However, a child is in need of justice and it's become more and more apparent that he was a victim of some kind of crime. Hopefully this reward will inspire someone to at least be halfway considerate of this child's loved ones.
