St Patrick’s Day is a little over two weeks away and now is the time to decorate homes, classrooms and offices with green. Cat fanciers love to add cats to the mix and this fun to make; inexpensive shamrocks continue to be a smashing success year after year.
The only supplies you will need for this charming decoration are rice, green food coloring, white glue, a shamrock template, white poster board or construction paper and a laminated picture of your cat.
Cut out a downloaded Shamrock template. Next trace it onto a piece of white poster board or construction paper. Heavier weight papers such as poster board or construction paper are more apt to hold up better than printer paper for this particular craft.
Utilize the craft glue to fill in the shamrock and spread the glue around in a nice uniform layer with your fingers.
Place the rice on top of the glue layer. Make certain everything gets covered well – staying in the lines is most assuredly not a necessity! When the entire shamrock is covered, press down on the rice a bit to make sure it is fixed to the glue.
Dump the excess rice off the shamrock and back into the bowl to disclose your shamrock!
When the shamrock is completely dry, it is time to glue a laminated picture of your cat to the center of the shamrock.
Children can make this all by themselves with next to no supervision. They will want to make more than one, of course, so plan on decorating your entire home with these amazing and economical shamrocks.
