Amber Riley and Derek Hough received some mixed comments from the judges about their week 3 Charleston on "Dancing with the Stars."
Although the judges loved the performance aspect, and praised the quality of her upper body movement, they felt that there was room for improvement in the footwork. Riley and Hough earned a score of 24/30 for that performance.
What did the "Glee" star have to say about the judges' critiques?
In her October 1, 2013 Parade Magazine blog, Riley wrote, "looking back at the performance, I don't really see what the judges were talking about in terms of my footwork because I really felt energetic. I felt like I was hitting those points because that was something that I concentrated on last week. I don't want to say I disagree with the judges’ critiques, but I guess I just didn't see it that way. That's not how I thought they would react; I thought they were going to criticize how much hip-hop was in the dance."
Still, she respects their critiques and will try to learn from the experience. As she continued, "but they're the professionals and they know what they're looking for, so if they say my footwork wasn't good, I have to continue to work on it."
Not everyone agreed with the judges' comments about Riley and Hough's Charleston. "Dancing" pro Chelsie Hightower tweeted, "LOOOOOVED IT!! @MsAmberPRiley @derekhough And Wow, would have given it at least a 9."
Like Riley, Hough didn't exactly see what the judges were talking about. As he tweeted, "Uh oh judges pickin on my girl @MsAmberPRiley ... I think she did great but I will watch the tapes back to see what they saw . All love"
Did you agree with the comments about Riley's footwork? Or was "Team Roughley" underscored for their Charleston?
