You knew there had to be one more coming, right? “Dancing With the Stars” likes nice round numbers, so 11 dance couples didn't quite cut it. As predicted by many, Good Morning America announced this morning, March 12, that the 12th and last dance couple for Season 16 will be “The Bachelor’s” Sean Lowe and dance pro Peta Murgatroyd.
Sean Lowe may still be a bachelor in that he isn’t married, but he is no longer an available bachelor. On last night’s season finale of “The Bachelor,” he proposed to the girl who he said made him feel “weird,” Catherine Guidici. The wedding will take place this summer and be televised on ABC.
Sean is relieved to have both secrets out. “I am so tired of keeping secrets, but now they’re all out,” Lowe said today on “Good Morning America,” referring to his new DWTS gig and to keeping his relationship with Guidici under wraps for months.
Sean Lowe is a 29-year-old entrepreneur from Dallas and the ladies love him. He has been one of the most popular bachelors ever. His episodes of “The Bachelor” have drawn millions of fans. DWTS producers expect him to do the same for the popular dancing show.
How are Sean’s dancing skills? That remains to be seen, but he thinks DWTS will help him become a great dancer for his wedding day. "When we have our big day, hopefully I’ll make her proud," he said of Guidici. "I won’t make a fool of myself on my dance floor." His bride-to-be is fully behind his appearance on “Dancing With the Stars.”
Sean has a really great dancing mentor in pro Peta Murgatroyd. Peta won the mirror ball trophy in Season 14 with Donald Driver. She most recently competed with actor Gilles Marini.
You can see Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd, along with the other 11 celebrity dance couples, when the new season of “Dancing With the Stars” steps onto the dance floor Monday night, March 18 at 8 p.m. eastern on ABC. Don’t miss a step!
