When "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 premieres Sept. 16 on ABC, celebrity cast member and "Jersey Shore" alum Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will take her first shimmies toward greatness in the ballroom. During a Sept. 6 interview with MTV, the diminutive reality star talked about pro partner Sasha Farber and her feelings about performing for the mirror ball trophy.
After claiming that she had no preferences when it came to her dance partner assignment, Snooki said she was happy to be working with fellow shortie and former "DWTS" troupe member Sasha. She was especially pleased when she discovered that she was half of the shortest couple to compete in the show's 17-season history.
Although Snooki insisted she was "definitely not confident" about her dance skills, she expressed great confidence in her ability to learn Sasha's choreography. During an Access Hollywood interview, Sasha validated that confidence, calling her "really, really good" at picking up the moves for their week one cha cha cha.
The reality star also shared thoughts on her "DWTS" competitors via a Sept. 5 Celebuzz blog entry. After calling the whole cast "FABULOUS," she offered up complimentary words about each of the individual celebs, including a prediction that "the ladies are gonna go wild" over "Pretty Little Liars" actor Brant Daugherty. Her highest praise went to actress Valerie Harper, who she called "the most humble and down to earth person I have ever met."
To see if Snooki and Sasha's cha cha cha pleases long-time judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli, watch the "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 premiere Sept. 16 on ABC.
