It was Disney week at DWTS with guest judge Donny Osmond and some fun animation from the Disney films accompanying the dancers on stage. We saw Derek Hough as a very convincing Prince Charming and Danica McKellar as a beautiful Belle in her golden ball gown.
- James and Peta – 40
- Danica and Val – 39
- Charlie and Sharna – 37
- Amy and Derek – 37
- Nene and Tony – 36
- Meryl and Maks – 36
- Candace and Mark - 35
- Cody and Witney – 34
- Drew and Cheryl – 28
Charlie and Sharna danced in the jazz style to the classic "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from Mary Poppins. It was a smile-inducing performance-with props, no less-and as near flawless as one can get twirling a cane (yes, Charlie did drop it briefly) with such fervor and speed. We also caught a glimpse of Charlie dancing with the penguins a la Dick Van Dyke after one of the breaks. The man can move!
Danica and Val dancing a Quick Step to "Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast was equally lively and fun. Danica's footwork has become incredibly crisp and the two seemed to be having a good time dancing together again after the switch-up week.
James and Peta dancing Contemporary to "Let it Go" from Frozen is certainly worth a watch (if you are not tired of the song, yet). James has such surprisingly natural grace that you almost watch him more than you watch Peta.
Also, Prince Derek and Princess Amy danced a fluid, "floaty" Waltz to "So This is Love" from Cinderella. And if you're a fan of Jungle Book and a "Mowgli meets Rudyard Kipling" wardrobe be sure to watch Meryl and Maks. Meryl's dancing is a pleasure to watch as usual.
The three couples in jeopardy this week were Nene and Tony, Cody and Witney and Candace and Mark. Even though Candace had the lowest judges' score last week, the fans apparently made up for that little problem to have her dance another week.Unfortunately, Cody's generally passionate fan base was not enough to keep him in the competition and he and Witney were sent home.
Albuquerque viewers can catch DWTS Monday nights on KOAT 7 at 7 p.m. (MST).
