'DWTS' pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy goes country in new music video release

Popular "Dancing with the Stars" pro hoofer Maksim Chmerkovskiy shows off his acting chops for fans with the Jan. 28 release of the music video for rising country artist Stacy Burk's new song "Til Your Boots are Dirty."

Chmerkovskiy stars in the video as a flashy city boy who gradually comes to an develop an appreciation of country life with co-star Lisa Jay as his lifestyle coach.

The tall Ukrainian dancer responded to the video's release via Twitter on Jan. 28, writing a simple but enthusiastic "YES!!" coupled with a pair of thumbs up icons.

Fans responded with equal levels of appreciation. Singer and actress Zendaya, who finished "DWTS" season 16 in second place with Chmerkovskiy's younger brother Val, offered up a virtual round of applause, while tweeter @Mjoy76T wrote "I LOVE IT! AMAZING JOB!!"

Chmerkovskiy's most recent appearance on ABC's hit reality dance competition came as a guest judge during the fall 2013 season. Although he never won the "DWTS" mirror ball trophy, he came close four times, scoring third place finishes with boxer Laila Ali (season four) and sports correspondent Erin Andrews (season 10), and runner-up placement with Spice Girl Mel B (season five) and actress Kirstie Alley (season 12).

His participation status for "Dancing with the Stars" 2014, which premieres on March 17, is unknown.
