"Dancing with the Stars" is set to return to Channel 15 in Tempe. On Tuesday, Feb. 26, E! Online shared new comments made by Val Chmerkovskiy about his brother's exit from the series. Maksim Chmerkovskiy will not be seen on this new season of "DWTS" on ABC. He had been wanting to take a break for some time, and he is finally doing that. Maksim said the following about his decision to leave:
"I am eager to explore other opportunities that have been made possible because of Dancing With the Stars. I’m going to take this time to dive into producing and acting, while fulfilling my sponsorship obligations."
His brother will remain on the series, and Val spoke about the departure as well. He said the following, according to E! Online:
"I'm going to miss my brother on the show. I'm not going to miss him because I see him every day. [He's] Grateful to Dancing With the Stars, they have a great relationship and able to work things out and let him pursue his other passions."
Maksim is not the only pro off this season. Chelsie Hightower is also taking a break from the series, and fans almost saw the same happen with Derek Hough. He is working on his own dance reality series with his sister, but he decided to juggle both "DWTS" and his other projects this season. He also spoke up about Maksim's exit. He said the following, according to Entertainment Tonight:
"It's the nature of the show, you know. People aren't asked back certain seasons and come back later. It'll be a different dynamic but that's what it's about I suppose. I'm excited for the new pros."
He went on to say that the cast and producers want to bring back the 'innocence' to the series. Fans have not seen the celebrities perform yet, but one person is excited to see the celebrities on the dance floor. Melissa Rycroft won last season, and she is already making some guesses about the new cast. Her early picks for the season are Derek Hough with partner Kellie Pickler and Mark Ballas with partner Aly Raisman, according to She Knows Entertainment.
Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
