DWTS Idol contestant ... it has never been done before... but "Dancing with the Stars" will have its very first "American Idol" contestant on the show. Country star Kellie Pickler will be competing on the new season of the popular dance show. On Feb. 24, TMZ confirmed the news, reported that Pickler will indeed join the not-so-secret cast of the new season.
Although DWTS does not "leak" any information before the "big reveal," several of the new contestants have already been revealed. Joining DWTS with Idol contestant Kellie Pickler is "Bachelor" Sean Lowe. Previously, "Bachelorette" Emily Maynard was rumored to be joining the cast, but that's not happening. It is unknown if she turned down an offer or if the rumor was just bogus. Lowe follows a line of "Bachelor/ette" contestants to join the show. Melissa Rycroft, was crowned last season's all-star champion. Jake Pavelka and Trista Sutter have also competed.
Also hitting the dance floor will be Wynonna Judd and Olympic Gold Medalist, Aly Raisman. Aly is a favorite already, given the success gymnast Shawn Johnson had on her season and the all-star season.
An Idol contestant on DWTS would be a stretch if the person wasn't "famous," but Pickler is indeed a star and she will likely do well on the show. Other rumored cast members have included Victor Ortiz (underwear model), Jacoby Jones (NFL player), and Bobby Flay (chef).
