The "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season continued Oct. 21 on ABC as the eight remaining couples performed once again for the judges' critiques and America's votes. Although many of the pairs scored well, it was actress Elizabeth Berkley who snagged the first perfect mark of season 17 thanks to a sizzling cha cha with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
The "Saved by the Bell" alum opened the duo's "Put Your Hands On Me" routine with a sultry solo before launching into the meat of their high energy, hip-shaking spectacle. Berkley sparkled like the mirror ball trophy she hopes to win as she and Chmerkovskiy successfully completed a series of intricate turns and plenty of spot-on footwork.
Long-time "DWTS" panelists Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were universally impressed with the offering. The feisty Tonioli appreciated the sharp, clean lines and called the dance "so sexy it just killed me." Inaba likened Berkley to a "white panther" and praised her confidence. Goodman, who is often the toughest critic of the three, lauded her consistency, and called the effort "fabulous."
Berkley and Chmerkovskiy were rewarded with the first perfect 30 of season 17 as well as sole possession of the top spot on the week six leader board.
If Berkley's celebrity friends have anything to say about it, the actress will continue dancing for the mirror ball trophy for many weeks to come. Both Jennifer Beals and Lisa Rinna stumped for Berkley via Twitter on Oct. 21, asking fans to cast votes in her favor.
The "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season continues Oct. 28 with more glittering action from the ballroom.
