The "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season premieres Sept. 16 on ABC with an all-new cast of celebrity personalities turned dance students. While the names of the stars competing are still under wraps, a series of Aug. 22 tweets by reliable show spoiler source DWTSGossip confirmed the identities of several of season 17's pro coaches.
Confirmed on the guys's side were Tony Dovolani, Mark Ballas, Derek Hough and Val Chmerkovskiy. Hough and Chmerkovskiy finished "DWTS" season 16 in first and second place with their respective partners, country star and "American Idol" notable Kellie Pickler and Disney actress and singer Zendaya. Dovolani was last paired with country music legend Wynonna Judd, and won the mirror ball trophy with "The Bachelor" alum Melissa Rycroft at the close of the all-star season. Ballas has won the championship twice, with Olympians Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson.
Not participating is mega popular pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
There was slightly less information given on the ladies' side, with just three female pros named. Included were two-time mirror ball trophy winner Cheryl Burke, who won season two with boy bander Drew Lachey and season three with NFL star Emmitt Smith; Peta Murgatroyd, who snagged the season 14 victory with NFL star Donald Driver; and Karina Smirnoff, who took the season 13 title with war hero and actor J.R. Martinez.
The current roster leaves five pro dancer spots left in the planned 12-couple lineup. Of the pros identified thus far, only Val Chmerkovskiy has yet to win a season of the hit reality dance competition.
