When the "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season premieres Sept. 16 on ABC, at least one former mirror ball trophy-winning pro won't strut her stuff in the storied ballroom, according to a surprising Aug. 19 Us Weekly report.
Kym Johnson, 37, revealed her plan to skip the fall edition of the hit reality dance competition by explaining that an "amazing work opportunity" had presented itself in her home nation of Australia. She refused to elaborate on the nature of the job, but assured fans that she's very much open to returning to the show for season 18.
Johnson, who won seasons nine and 12 of "DWTS" with legendary entertainer Donny Osmond and NFL star Hines Ward, appeared in 14 straight seasons of the reality show. Most recently, she finished season 16 in fifth place with soap star Ingo Rademacher.
The blonde beauty is the first female professional coach to confirm her fall season status. Only Derek Hough, who won the spring 2013 season with "American Idol" alum and country music star Kellie Pickler, has said he will definitely return for season 17.
The full cast of the "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season will be revealed during the Sept. 4 edition of "Good Morning America" on ABC.
