"Dancing with the Stars" is getting ready to return to Channel 15 in Tempe. On Sunday, Feb. 24, both Wetpaint Entertainment and The Hollywood Reporter shared the latest casting information for season 16. Rumor Fix and Reality TV Magazine also shared new details about the upcoming cast. ABC will announce the full cast of season 16 of "DWTS" on Tuesday morning during the "Good Morning America" broadcast, but one member of the cast was announced during last night's Oscars broadcast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jacoby Jones will dance his way from the Super Bowl to the dance floor. Fans just saw him win the Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month.
However, two of the professional dancing line-up have announced they will not be seen in season 16. Chelsie Hightower slipped and told a TMZ reporter that she was asked not to return this season, according to Wetpaint Entertainment on Sunday. Maksim Chmerkovskiy is the other professional dancer exiting this season. He had been on the fence about returning, but he is now off the fence and definitely not returning, according to Reality TV Magazine.
Rumors about the season 16 cast have been circulating since the end of last season. Emily Maynard was just one of the ABC reality stars teased as appearing, but she shot down those rumors early on. Rumor Fix has named three more celebrities joining the cast. They also named Jacoby Jones before he was announced by ABC during the Oscars. Fans will also see Wynonna Judd, Victor Ortiz, and Sean Lowe on the dance floor this season, according to the site.
Fans are buzzing about the return of this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:
@TheRealJacoby12 -Excited to hear the news that you'll be doing #DWTS this year! #ravensnation @DancingABC #SendingLoveFromBmore
