Bill Nye the Science Guy was injured during Monday night's performance on "Dancing with the Stars." E! News reported how serious his injury was on Sept. 24, 2013. Bill hurt his knee after he tripped towards the end of his routine last night. He was hospitalized and is now awaiting MRI results to tell if surgery is necessary.
Bill Nye and his partner Tyne Stecklein danced a cha cha for their first "Dancing with the Stars" performance. The pair received the lowest scores from the judges. Last night, Bill Nye danced a paso doble to "Beethoven's Fifth Symphony" and they were given low scores again. If the 57-year-old is able to dance next week they are expected to learn the jive.
ABC says, "We can confirm Bill Nye was injured during his performance last night and is currently seeking medical attention. We will continue to keep you posted on his progress."
If Bill Nye withdraws from the competition, ABC needs to decide whether to skip an elimination or to bring back eliminated contestant Keyshawn Johnson. "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 airs every Monday on ABC, channel WJXX in Jacksonville, Fla.
