If the latest buzz is accurate, fans will soon have their first crossover “DWTS” and “Idol” contestant. The latest “Dancing With the Stars” spoilers indicate that season 16 cast, which will formally be announced Tuesday, may have not one, but two reality television stars. TMZ reported on Feb. 24 that “American Idol” star Kellie Pickler has signed on for the new season of “DWTS.”
This will be a first for a “Dancing With the Stars” cast, if it turns out to be accurate. While there have been stars from a few other reality shows, this “DWTS” and “Idol” contestant pairing with Kellie Pickler would be a first, as an "American Idol" star has never been a contestant before. The season 16 celebrity cast will be announced Tuesday, Feb. 26 on “Good Morning America.”
Other names being bandied about include “The Bachelor 2013” Sean Lowe, country singer Wynonna Judd, gymnast Aly Raisman, boxer Victor Ortiz and football player Jacoby Jones. As it happens, ABC confirmed the participation of Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jones during the big awards show Sunday night. Obviously there are quite a few names still under wraps as well, but “DWTS” fans will find out who is truly in and who is not once Tuesday morning hits.
