Niecy Nash enlivened season 10 of "Dancing with the Stars" with her jokes about food and her jiggly bits. Yesterday on her blog, she announced that she was getting married to Jay Tucker, her boyfriend of one year.
According to Nash, she met Tucker on Labor Day at a party and began dating him soon after. As a divorced mother, she didn't think it was possible.
I was in awe of how good God really is! I was a divorced mother of three children and worried that a good man would be hard to find. I had a strong talk with myself and decided to believe that God’s best for me was going to show up….and it did!
Tucker took her to dinner on the Saturday night, exactly one year after they had met and had a dessert with a candle on it brought to the table, telling her to make a wish.
I said “Honestly? My wish is for forever”. He then said, “Do you know what I wish”? I wish you would be my wife. Say yes”
Niecy writes that falling in love was easy, but now she has to plan a wedding. Twenty years ago, her ex-husband planned everything because Nash had never been to a wedding to now Nash needs to plan a wedding...in eight months.
Nash also recently announced (4 August 2010) that she was leaving her hosting duties on "Clean House" after nine years. The 40-year-old Nash had just been awarded a 2010 Daytime Emmy Award as producer/host of "Clean House: The Messiest Home in the Country" on the Style Network.
On DWTS, Nash danced with Louis Van Amstel and survived to finish 5th. The final four included Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke, Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya and winner Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough. Nash and van Amstel would get their best score for their quickstep and they would be the lowest scoring couple for the Argentine tango with 21.
This season on DWTS which starts up 20 September 2010, van Amstel is matched up with another comedian, Margaret Cho.
Nash was born Carol Denise Ensley in Palmdale, California and married Don Nash in 1994. They divorced in 2007.
