If his wish is fulfilled, former Olympian turned TV personality Bruce Jenner will be the third "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" cast member to strut his stuff on "Dancing with the Stars," according to a Jan. 22 Us Weekly report.
An unnamed source claimed that Jenner, 64, was "dying" to take part in the long-running reality show, and that producers were "close to locking him in" for season 18, which premieres March 17 on ABC.
If Jenner signs on for "DWTS" 2014, he'll follow in the footsteps of two of his step-children. Kim Kardashian, who gave birth to daughter North with boyfriend Kanye West in June of 2013, competed in season seven alongside pro partner Mark Ballas. Her brother Rob and his pro partner Cheryl Burke narrowly missed out on claiming the season 13 title as they finished second to victors J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff.
The news of Jenner's alleged interest in participation drew mostly criticism from show fans. A tweet from @rescuedogsrok, which simply read "Would totally boycott," summed up the sentiments expressed by many.
"Dancing with the Stars" 2014 will premiere March 17 on ABC as an all-new cast of 12 celebrity/professionals pairs begin the quest for the mirror ball trophy.
