The "Dancing with the Stars" fall 2013 season resumes Oct. 28 on ABC with more performances by the eight couples still vying for the coveted mirror ball trophy. So which celeb is favored to win season 17 per odds posted to Bovada Sportsbook on Oct. 28, and will the episode conclude with a surprise double elimination?
An Oct. 23 press release by ABC revealed that "one couple will face elimination" at the close of the two-hour episode, a revelation which should squash rumors of two couples getting the boot.
Regardless of the elimination format, "High School Musical" actor Corbin Bleu is likely to pass safely to the next phase of the competition. He and pro partner Karina Smirnoff enter "DWTS" week seven leading the pack with 5/4 odds of victory, and are slated to perform the hip shaking cha cha cha.
Ranked second are "Glee" alum Amber Riley and Derek Hough, who have 7/5 odds odds of taking the trophy home. The powerful duo, whose recent scores have suffered mightily at the hand of persnickety head judge Len Goodman, will put their own spin on the aggressive paso doble.
"Saved by the Bell" actress Elizabeth Berkley sits in third place with 6/1 odds. Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy, who earned the first perfect mark of "DWTS" season 17 with their Oct. 21 cha cha cha, will deliver a quickstep. A few paces behind Elizabeth and Val in the four spot are reality star Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke, who hold 14/1 odds of victory. The duo will dance the fleet-footed jive.
Tied for fifth place with 16/1 odds are "Jersey Shore" alum Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and "Pretty Little Liars" actor Brant Daugherty. Both have proven themselves worthy competitors amid a crowd of celebs with previous dance experience. Nicole and pro partner Sasha Farber will perform a samba, while Brant and partner Peta Murgatroyd will speed things up with a jive.
Ranked seventh with 50/1 odds of winning "DWTS" are actress Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani, who will perform an Oct. 28 salsa. Bringing up the rear with unenviable 100/1 odds are comedian Bill Engvall and Emma Slater. The fan-favorite pair will next dance a quickstep.
In addition to their individual dances, each couple will also take part in a team freestyle routine, with Elizabeth and Val, Nicole and Sasha, Leah and Tony, and Bill and Emma making up Team Bon Bom and Amber and Derek, Corbin and Karina, Brant and Peta, and Jack and Cheryl joining forces as Team FoxingAwesome.
