Dwight Howard and his untimely antics struck again this week. On Wednesday, CBSsportsline.com reported that Howard was not happy with Orlando giving his number 12 jersey to Tobias Harris. Apparently, he wanted his number to be hanging in the rafters. While he wished he handled the situation better in Orlando, he still thinks that he should be remembered for all the great things.
This actually sounds like a joke. Dwight Howard didn’t want to be in Orlando, but he wants his jersey to hang in the rafters. Maybe it would be different if they won a NBA title. However, they only got to one finals appearance during his tenure with the Magic.
Still, that would be a stretch for him to get his number retired. He never developed any offensive moves besides a weak handed jump hook. The problem is that it looks like Howard was shooting a jump hook with his weak hand.
It’s still interesting that he cares about his number being retired. He’s still playing. This is the equivalent of breaking up with your girl (Orlando), hanging out with some random chick at the bar (Lakers), then finally settling down with the one you love (Houston). Yet, while you’re where you want to be, you’re still concerned about what your first girl thinks.
Newsflash, Orlando isn’t thinking about you anymore. Hopefully for Houston, Dwight Howard has this same passion on the court.
