Dwight Gooden threats: Former Mets, Yanks star accused of ‘terroristic threats'

If you grew up in the late 1980's, you couldn't talk about baseball without mentioning Dwight Gooden. Gooden was one of the most dominating pitchers in the game, seemingly striking out almost every batter he faced. However Gooden's retirement years have been nothing to write home about.

According to SI.comon Mar. 3, Gooden allegedly threatened his estranged wife Monique during an incident on March 1, leading his wife to call the police and file a temporary restraining order against the former star.

Gooden allegedly told his wife, “All bets are off and I will hurt you and your family. You’ll see, just wait.”

A family court judge granted the restraining order “on the spot” after speaking to Monique Gooden on the phone.

Gooden is no stranger to being on the wrong side of the law.

Gooden has had several run-ins with the police in his checkered past, including a DUI with a child in the car. Hopefully this once great MLB star can get on track and finally put his past where it belongs - in the past.

However if he did make threats that prove to be true against his estranged wife, Gooden will once again be making headlines for the wrong reasons.
