Dwight Gales faces a maximum of 10 years for sexual battery

On April 17, 2010, Dwight Gales, 44, of Cleveland, approached the 30-year-old female victim as she was walking down the street near West 25th and Scranton. She rejected his advances and continued to walk until Dwight Gales forced her to a nearby abandon house. Dwight Gales sexually assaulted her.

He took her phone and let her leave. She went to the hospital. The following day, in an attempt to retrieve her phone, the victim called her phone and arranged to buy it back from the male who answered it. The victim contacted police.

The male, who was Dwight Gales, showed up near West 14th and Scranton at a gas station to sell the phone. Cleveland Police arrested him. On July 21, 2010, Dwight Gales pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual battery. He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Dwight Gales’ sentencing is scheduled for 9:00 am in front of Judge Nancy McDonnell.
