Early Wednesday morning, former WWE superstar and Hollywood giant Dwayne Johnson tweeted confirmation that he will be starring as a DC character in an upcoming Warner Brothers film. The Rock has long teased a role in DC Comic's ever growing cinematic universe. He had first hinted he was going to be Green Lantern, John Stewart before being linked to Shazam and Black Adam.

Johnson has now confirmed that he will indeed play the tyrant Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam film with this tweet:

Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.’ My honor to become.. #BlackAdam

Black Adam has long been a rival and at times ally to Shazam the former Captain Marvel. Blessed with the same power given to Captain Marvel, Black Adam was the wizard's first apprentice long before Billy Bastion was born. Adam was corrupted by Shazam's power and became a tyrant. In recent years, Black Adam has started his own family in resemblance to the Marvel family. At one point, Black Adam was even a prominent member of the Justice Society of America.

Dwayne Johnson now has the opportunity to portray an anti-hero who may very well play an important role in the DC cinematic universe. The Rock will be visiting the Rock of Eternity in theaters very soon.
