Earlier today reporter LBJ of News with a Twist posted an interview with the stars of the upcoming Paramount Pictures film “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”. This program airs on WGNO, an ABC station out of Louisiana where the sequel to “G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” was shot. In a Hollywood rarity the film was originally set to premiere in June of 2012, but was delayed just weeks before it’s released. “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” will finally hit theaters in 3D on March 26, 2013.
Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson portrays fan favorite character Roadblock in the movie, and has been a strong supporter of the film ever since his casting. The Rock told LBJ, “It’s important to get the mythology right. I grew up on G.I. Joe, you grew up on G.I. Joe, we all did.”
D.J. Cotrona and Adrianne Palicki, of “Friday Night Lights” fame, also join the sequels cast in the respective roles of Flint and Lady Jaye.
Cotrona proclaimed, “This is the G.I. Joe movie you’ve wanted to see.”
While not available for this interview, the star of the first movie has seen his fame rise immeasurably since that film’s mediocre debut. After the unexpected success of last years “Magic Mike” Channing Tatum will return to his role of Duke in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”, but it is unknown at this time how big of a part he will play. The trailer seems to suggest a possible early exit.
Catch all of these stars and the legendary Bruce Willis when “G.I. Joe Retaliation” drops into theaters on March 26th.
