Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has one of the most awe-inspiring physiques ever to grace the silver screen, and he works hard to maintain it. Johnson, 41, says the secret to his ripped body is unwavering motivation and dedication.
"Be intense," he tweeted Aug. 17, along with a video of himself lifting massive weights. "Be hungry. Be prepared to get kicked outta the gym. #FOCUS
Johnson, who routinely tweets workout photos and advice to his 5.3 million Twitter followers, is currently training to play the demigod Hercules in the film, "Hercules: The Thracian Wars."
As part of his regimen, The Rock is following a 5,000-calorie-a-day diet consisting of seven high-protein meals featuring three pounds of meat and a cup of lion blood daily.
The strapping 6-foot-5 former pro wrestler says hard work and consistency are the keys to his incredible success and superior physique.
"Challenge yourself to be better daily," he said. "When it's you vs. you .... it all adds up to success. Commit to being great at what you do. Be relentless."
The Rock's commitment to daily workouts has inspired others to embrace his grueling regimen, including actor Hugh Jackman, who sought his diet advice when he was training to play Wolverine.
Johnson, who has been a workout fanatic all his life, says the drive and self-discipline he incorporates into his workouts have fueled all the success he now enjoys.
“Training for me is a metaphor for life, period," he told Muscle & Fitness. "The dedication, the determination, the desire, the work ethic, the great successes and the great failures — I take that into life.”
