Dwayne Johnson isn't labeled as "The Rock" anymore unless he happens to be in a WWE ring for a rare appearance. When he's on screen, he is simply known as Dwayne Johnson, and as UPI reported on Oct. 15, 2013, he is now fighting real rocks in an upcoming earthquake disaster movie as he finishes filming the remake of "Hercules."
The wrestling star turned actor is in the final stages of signing on for New Line Cinema's earthquake disaster flick known simply as "San Andreas." The film will be directed by Brad Peyton, and the two worked together back on "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island."
Johnson tweeted early on Tuesday:
"Excited to make the first ever epic 3D disaster movie! A privilege to play the role. #FirstResponder #SanAndreas"
It is no secret that Dwayne Johnson is a huge name in Hollywood now. In 2013 alone, he starred in "Fast & Furious 6," "Pain & Gain," "Snitch," and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation." He is currently filming a remake of "Hercules" and has been tweeting throughout the shoot.
