DVD Tuesday: follow the adventures of heroine Tris in first 'Divergent' film

Divergent” is quickly becoming the hottest new young adult franchise, and you can catch the first film in the series on DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday. Pick of the Week: “Divergent

This action movie directed by Neil Burger and based on the popular book by Veronica Roth is set in a future Chicago, where society is divided into factions based on personality traits. It is time for sixteen-year-old Tris (Shailene Woodley) to choose her faction, but she a test that reveals she is Divergent—in other words, she doesn’t truly belong in any one faction. She keeps this a secret as she embarks on her faction training, but when conflict starts simmering in their society, she finds that being Divergent, though it puts her in danger, may be able to help her save everyone. Runtime: 139 minutes. Rated PG-13 for intense violence and action, thematic elements and some sensuality.
