Detective Chief Inspector Very Stanhope is a woman you don't want to mess with. She is the type of cop who won't stop until she has all the answers. A retiring Doctor, a surgeon, has been killed and his daughters kidnapped. One of the daughters is an adoptee from the Iraqi war. The young girl was brought to the United Kingdom after her house was blown up by a missile and all her family appeared dead. She had surgery done by her future father.

Another person, a photographer, also had wanted to adopt the girl but because of what his ex-wife has said about him he was denied. He becomes the first suspect but is found not to have committed the murder. It turns out that not everyone in her family was killed. Someone had gotten in touch with him and asked him to come to England. You must see the rest of the video to find out all the details of this murder.

Vera is a determined woman who with the help of her team finds the truth. Her right hand man Detective Joe Ashworth is a family man who finds that it is tough to do a job with Vera and also have time for his family. The storys are interesting and fun as she is also a woman with a certain brashness that will make you squirm.
