Hetty Wainthropp is a woman of years who has started to become a part time detective. Along with her husband and a young man by the name of Geoffrey she has opened up a detective agency. While on holiday in Italy she was talking to the owners of the hotel she is staying in. They confided in her that they have been receiving ransom notes with their sons fingers in them. It seems the young man has been running up some gambling debts. They think it's the Mafia who are sending them. Hetty on the other hand thinks something else because the debts are being paid. Hetty is thinking that it could be the roommate because when the daughter comes with some money a body has been found and the eyes are cut out. It seems the roommate works at a mortuary and she thinks that someone may be selling body parts. Watch the rest of the video to see the outcome.

Hetty Wainthropp as I said is a pensioner who went out and found a part time job. She became interested when as a cashier a couple were coming in and cashing a pensioner's check. When she found out that her feeling were correct and foul play was at hand, she became more interested in investigating. She has actually became quite good at this work and opened up an agency.

Acorn Entertainment brings us this wonderful DVD of Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. Along with three other stories they bring us the best of the best in British Investigators. The large 27 episodes DVD comes out Feb. 11, 2014. The sound and visual quality of the DVD is excellent. This is a must see of one of the best series to come out of the U.K. in many years.

Hetty brings her common sense and compassion to the story with ease. She is one of the best in solving a mystery. This is one lady that you must have some of her work in your DVD library. Enjoy.
