DVD release for hit anime "Attack on Titan" announced

FUNImation Entertainment has put up their listing for the upcoming DVD release of hit series "Attack on Titan," with three different editions announced.

The three editions, which will have a sub and a dub, will include the first 13 episodes of the series. The release date has been announced for June 3.

The Standard Edition, which will be selling for $37.49 on the FUNImation shop, will include the episodes on DVD and Blu-Ray, commentary on episodes 3 and 13, a "making of" featurette, "Chibi Theater: Fly CAdets! Fly! Days 1-13," Eyecatch gallery, textless opening and closing songs, and trailers. The Limited Edition, selling at $67.49, will include all of that along with a 3D lenticular art card and 24 cards of "Notes From Beyond The Wall: Part 1." The Collector's Edition, selling for $96.74, will include all the material from the two previous editions as well as military emblem pins and two necklaces -- one in the style of lead character Eren's key, and one in the shape of sword.

"Attack on Titan" has been a huge hit since last year. The story of a civilization trying to survive against giants has garnered rave reviews and has inspired many cosplayers over the past year.

Those attending Anime Boston this year will get a chance to catch a sneak preview of the English dub of the series, with a question and answer period after the viewing with ADR director Mike McFarland. No official cast announcement has been made.
