The Dayton Dutch Lions announced this week that they will be taking part in a weekend of activities intended to promote increased awareness around global warming. All events will take the weekend of April 30th and consists of local school projects, community awareness, outreach programs, a golf outing fundraiser, and highlighted by a match between the Dutch Lions and Global United FC.
Global United FC is a project consisting of more than 150 of the worlds most famous former players and coaches. It's mission is to combat global warming by playing exhibition matches around the world in places affected by climate change. Global United FC uses the global popularity of soccer, and some of its most recognizable players, to raise awareness on the issue of global warming and donates all proceeds to support organizations and research institutions dedicated to fighting against global warming.
The Dutch Lions will play Global United FC on Friday, April 30th at 7:00pm at Miami Valley South Stadium in Bellbrook. Tickets are available now with prices range from $7 - $10 and $2.50 from each ticket going to Global United FC. Tickets can be purchased on line at Ticketweb.com.
The Dutch Lions will be competing in the Premier Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer Leagues, with their first match of their inaugural season on Saturday, May 8th at 7:30pm vs the Cincinnati Kings.
